TripSplit is designed as a hassle-free tool that allows you to calculate trip expenses without creating an account or providing personal profiles. We only process information that you voluntarily enter into your trip:

• Trip & Expense Details: Trip name, selected currency, participant names, and expense amounts logged for group calculations.
• Optional Email Address: If you choose to verify your email address to sync multiple trips across devices or receive updates, we use it strictly for sending requested verification codes. We do not send spam or share your email address.

2. Device & Offline Storage

Your trip calculations are stored locally on your mobile device or computer so you can access your trip expenses even when traveling in remote areas without internet or mobile data. When your internet connection is active, data syncs safely so your group members can view updated balances.

3. Cookies & Session Storage

We use standard browser cookies and local storage solely to keep track of your active trip session and preferences. We do not use intrusive tracking cookies, and we do not build personal profiles for advertising purposes.

4. Financial & Payment Privacy

TripSplit is an expense tracking and balance calculation tool. We never collect, store, or ask for your bank account numbers, credit card details, or financial passwords. All payments between group members take place outside TripSplit via your preferred payment applications or cash.

5. Data Protection & Sharing

We respect your privacy and enforce strict data safety practices:

• We never sell, trade, or rent your personal data or trip information to third-party advertisers or data brokers.
• All communications between your device and our servers use secure, encrypted connection channels.
• Trip access is restricted using a secret 6-digit passcode set by the trip creator.

6. Your Rights & Control

You are always in control of your data. You can delete trips from your device dashboard or clear your website browsing data at any time.
